Region Design

NEW STRIPE RED & WHITE.png

What Makes A City Or Region Unique?

This is the central question when designing an area to be part of The Great American Miniature. We can ensure that each area is properly represented by following these steps:

research.png

Research

Figure out what the city or region is known for. The aim is to dig deep and go beneath the surface. Everyone knows that New York City is associated with the Empire State Building, for example, but what neighborhoods are exciting outside of the tourist districts? What really gives the city its energy and why? What people live there and what are their stories?

splice.png

Combine

Once the main focal points of a certain area are determined, it’s time to put them together into a layout that will be suitable for a tourist attraction with the Guest-flow in mind while also upholding the geographical makeup of the region.

build.png

Build

The final step is the execution of the overall plan and involves combining all of the previous research to ensure the region is being built adhering to authentic regional standards. Barns in Kansas, for example, might be different from barns in Pennsylvania. In the case of New York City, Harlem may exhibit different building styles than Little Italy.

Though the attraction is comprised of miniature buildings, skyscrapers, houses, vehicles, and trains, the true story of America lies within its people and their individual stories.

These stories are woven into the vast framework that is our own shared American identity and common story. It is the goal of the Great American Miniature to tell as many of these stories as possible in the belief that our national narrative can only be told through the individual citizens of the United States of America.
